I am a senior designer and art director with over nine years’ experience across both private and government sectors, specialising in advertising, branding, UI/UX, product design, and art direction.
My focus is on elevating brands and getting the best results from communications and marketing campaigns by developing customer- focused creative that distills often complex concepts, calls to action and technical information into a simple, easy-to-digest visual morsel.
I take a holistic approach to communication and design - developing strong creative that supports and amplifies a message across a range of platforms, from print to digital and out-of-home.
Beyond design and art direction, I also love Illustration. I am always keen to find new ways to elevate my design work with this creative and technical lens.
Having worked as both a freelance designer and in-house, I value efficiency and continuous improvement. Establishing clarity and understanding around the needs, scope, creative brief and process expectations at the outset of a project are essential to the smooth and timely delivery of a product that really hits the mark.
Additionally, my experience working for government clients has familiarised me with some of the key requirements and considerations for delivering projects in this environment, including managing a range of stakeholders’ (often complex or competing) needs, timelines and approval pathways, compliance with and creatively leveraging the NSW Government brand guidelines, Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) and consideration of both audience needs and project objectives to frame the creative solution.
I also understand the broad spectrum of work a graphic designer working for government supports, ranging from social media tiles, info-graphics and presentations through to fact sheets, eDMs, reports and formal corporate documents.
I don’t consider myself as limited to design - I am always seeking to explore different ways to add value to a project or team, whether through identifying opportunities for process optimisation, expanding my own skill set to support the delivery of new products such as video editing, animation and copy-writing, or contributing to a positive team culture and workplace.
